GGD GHOR’s Knowledge Network was established in 2011. It is a platform for and by public health professionals. Thea Aartsma is the administrator of GGD GHOR Kennisnet. She talks about the platform’s inception: “We noticed that many people in our sector were reinventing the wheel simultaneously. That’s a waste. On GGD GHOR Kennisnet, people find each other.”
And it’s a success: in 2020, there were more than 22,000 professionals on the knowledge network. Together, they posted over 38,000 messages. And this number continues to grow.

Users of the Knowledge Network primarily share information with each other in specific groups, according to Thea Aartsma. A clear example of this is the group for childcare inspectors. “For all childcare inspectors, it’s crucial to be a member of this group. Inspectors continuously exchange knowledge and share news. If legislation changes, you usually read about it first in this group.”

In 2011, GGD GHOR became a client of Yard. On GGD GHOR Kennisnet, everything revolves around interaction: “The saying ‘for and by professionals’ is often heard, but here it truly applies.
