Strengthen Engagement in Your Online Community with These 2 New Yunits Features

For a successful online community platform, engagement is crucial. The more active and involved users are, the greater the value of the online community. As the administrator of an online community platform, you want to gain a clear understanding of the interaction within your community and directly stimulate the engagement of new participants. That’s why we’ve developed 2 new features for our online community platform Yunits.

Insight into the Effectiveness of Emails

With this new feature, administrators gain insight into the data of sent emails. You can see which emails have been sent, whether they have been opened, and which hyperlinks have been clicked. This information is displayed in real-time on a user’s profile, providing valuable insights into the interaction within your online community.

For example, when a participant asks a question, an email is sent to all participants with knowledge of that topic. Administrators can see how many participants received the email, opened it, and clicked on a link. This allows, for instance, the determination of a response rate, providing insights into the interaction and the value of the online community for participants.

All existing customers will receive this new feature. We will approach each one individually. New customers will benefit immediately from this new functionality.

In the coming period, we will develop and add more data-driven features to the Yunits community platform.

Improved Onboarding Experience

Additionally, we have developed an intuitive and user-friendly onboarding wizard for Yunits. This encourages users to complete their profiles fully. The more information they provide, the more relevant the information they receive. This, in turn, promotes engagement.

3 Steps

The enhanced onboarding starts for new users after activating their accounts. In three steps, they are guided to complete their profiles:

  • Step 1: Selecting areas of expertise. Users indicate their knowledge and areas they want to learn more about.
  • Step 2: Personalizing the profile. This can be done by adding a photo and bio.
  • Step 3: Adding personal social media accounts, such as LinkedIn and X.

During these steps, a progress bar shows how far a user has progressed in the process, motivating them to complete all steps.

Encouraging First Activity

After completing the steps, the wizard encourages users to undertake their first activity. This could be asking a question on the platform or joining working groups. As an administrator, you decide what this call-to-action should be, depending on your target audience and the type of community.

This initial activity is crucial for engagement. When participants contribute something immediately, they feel a greater commitment to the community and are likely to contribute more in the future. This has a positive effect on engagement in the long term!

New customers can immediately use the new onboarding wizard. For existing customers, we will add the wizard to their community platform upon request.
